Boleslaw Orbik and Family: Schenectady to Brooklyn New York.

Boleslaw Orbik, 21, a Farmer from Tayno, left Hamburg 25 March 1900 aboard the ship Pennsylvania and arrived in New York April 7 1900 traveling to Schenectady, NY to his cousin Frank Orbik.

In the 1900 U.S. Census, in the town of Glenville in Schenectady County New York lived Benjamin Orbik, a day laborer, aged 20, born in April 1880 and immigrating in 1898.
 

In the 1910 U.S. Census, in the 3rd ward of Schenectady in Schenectady County New York lived Bernard Orbiche, a laborer, at the Loco Works aged 27, (born 1883) and immigrating in 1900. Living with him was:

On October 7th 1918 Boleslaw Orbik, son of Pawel Orbik and Catherine Slomka died in Kings Hospital in Brooklyn New York. He died of lobar pneumonia but this was probably the result of the influenza epidemic. He was 36 years old so he was born in 1882 and live in the U.S. for 18 years. At the time of his death, he was living at 164 23rd Street in Brooklyn. Boleslaw Orbik was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery.

In 1919, Eva Orbik filled out a Declaration of Intent for U.S. citizenship in King's County (Brooklyn New York, Declaration Volume 197, page 222).


In the 1920, U.S. Census, 112 21st Street, in the 7th ward of Brooklyn in Kings County New York lived Ewa Orbik, widow, a laundress, aged 37, (born 1883) an alien, immigrating in 1903. Living with her was:
 

On 4 September 1927, in the parish of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Brooklyn, New York. Izydor Orbik, 23, son of Boleslaw Orbik and Ewa Mazurkiewicz, married Leokadza Stafanska, 18, daughter of Stanislaw Stefanski and Stefani Gorlicki. Witnesses to this marriage were Frank Z. Orbik and Jennie Stefanska. This information from a civil marriage certificate # 15060 issued by the New York Department of Health
 

On August 10th 1928 Boleslaw Orbik, 20, son of Boleslaw Orbik and Eva Manzerkiewicz (sic) a chauffer, died as a result of a gunshot wound to the chest while attempting to escape from the police at 3rd Avenue and 22 nd Street, in Brooklyn. This was from a coroner's report on the death certificate # 17159 in Brooklyn.

In the 1930 U.S. Census,  at 358 56th Street in Brooklyn, Kings County New York lived Isadore Orbik, a shipping clerk, at a factory aged 25, (born 1905) in New York. Living with him was:
 

16 April 1931 Zigmont Orbik, 21 living at 139 24th street married Rose Adamska, 18 of 7218a 7th Ave. This according to the Brooklyn Standard Union.
 

On March 17th, 1944 Frank Zygmunt Orbik died in Samaritan Hospital in Brooklyn. He died of acute pancreatitis. He had been a burner at Bethlehem Steel. His wife was named Rose Mary Orbik. He was born in the U.S. on November 16th, 1909 to Boleslaw Orbik and Ewa Mazurkiewicz. He was 34 at the time of his death and his residence was 271-12th Street in Brooklyn. He was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery.
